The o’MHE training

I took part in Online Mental Health Essentials for Future Healthcare Professionals, an interactive course organised by IMSA-Iran under IFMSA’s public health committee, SCOPH. The 2026 edition ran online on 29–31 October and 5–7 November, with a focus on mental health in crisis settings. It combined case studies, simulations and small-group work.

The graduation assignment

Completion required at least 80% attendance, pre- and post-workshop assessments, and designing and presenting a group public health activity. We created PeerBridge for that assignment. My section of the final presentation covered team coordination and evaluation of the proposed workshop.

The PeerBridge workshop design

Three scenarios cover academic burnout, anxiety and social isolation. The 2.5-hour format lets students practise recognising distress, listening with empathy and clear boundaries, and connecting peers to suitable local resources.

How learning would be assessed

The evaluation plan uses a before-and-after quiz, role-play observation and anonymous feedback. The project and its materials were designed during o’MHE. A pilot with students remains a proposed next step.

What is an SRT?

An IFMSA Sub-Regional Training (SRT) is a training event with several practical workshops. FASMR-Romania’s Carpathian Camp, announced for 4–8 November 2026 in Cluj-Napoca, was a separate event from the online o’MHE.
