Where it started
I looked into a digital-product model: buying or creating dashboard templates, improving them and offering them to a specific audience. We focused on Google Sheets tracker bundles and organisation products that sell without any shipping.
Platforms I studied
- Etsy: discovery through search, product listings and testing small niches.
- Gumroad: hosting downloadable products and selling directly.
- Ko-fi: a simple shop and sales to a community.
- Notion and Google Sheets: starting formats, extended with small web apps.
My method
Compare competitors, find real use cases (studying, organisation, finance, tracking a business), improve the design and simplicity, then add clear product pages and examples. The plan for a shop with two partners also raised questions about legal structure, a 50/50 split and business banking.
The key point: rights
Buying a bundle doesn’t automatically allow you to resell it. Before publishing anything, I check whether the licence allows redistribution or resale and whether modified files are restricted. Without explicit rights, I create my own.
Next steps
Test a small selection of original dashboards, measure real interest and only automate distribution once the positioning is confirmed.
